The RISE Expo, Northeastern’s annual student research fair, was held this year on April 11th and featured posters from five TAN Lab members.
Keith Huang‘s project, “Aging and Cerebrovascular Reactivity – an fNIRS Study,” assessed changes in cerebrovascular reactivity between older and younger adults during a breath-hold task.
Caela Hung‘s project, “fNIRS-based Adaptive Language Mapping for People with Aphasia and Healthy Controls,” looked at areas of brain activation in adults with and without aphasia during a computerized language task.
Shriya Karthikvatsan‘s project, “Age-Related Effects of Dual-Tasking on Language Content, Fluency, and Grammaticality,” investigated the cost of dual-tasking (i.e. walking and talking) on adults’ language complexity and efficiency during a story retell task.
Finally, Pratham & Priyansh Khare‘s project, “Analyzing Digitization Methods for Accurate fNIRS Head Mapping in Post-stroke Aphasia,” compared two different digitizer systems for 3D head mapping, and investigated their reliability within different everyday environments, such as a classroom and a kitchen.
Congratulations to all of these RA’s on their successful poster sessions!
